Default Ferguson Cassette Deck Question

Hello does anyone remember a stereo cassette deck sold by Ferguson that was styled like the early Videostar VCR machines or am I dreaming?

Yours a bit bewildered

Gary,

Would it be this one, a Ferguson 3262 ?

Hello Tony I was wondering if you would know, sorry but that's not it, think of the early top loader video stars, when I saw it I thought that would look nifty with the video next to it.

Hi, In a word yes I remember the deck, I don't think it was a Ferguson machine though. I saw one of these machines in our local cash convertors recently which has transport keys that are styled in the same fashion as the Ferguson 3V22 though.
If it's still there next Friday when I go past I'll check the manufacturer, I think it may have been a Toshiba.

Regards

Andrew

Hi Gary, Here's a JVC CD 1635E, not surprising that the keys are similar as JVC made the Ferguson VCR's.
Anything like it?

Well I found this rather awful Google image from an old sale ad but it doesn't mention the model, only that it is a Ferguson Cassette deck.
Must be this one eh?

YEAAAA I am not going mad (yet) that's the buggah, thankyou so much for finding this picture of it.
I wonder if it was made by JVC in which case it might not too bad a machine
It appears to have quite a few controls maybe it has built in power amps
I have a search running on E***, plenty have come up but not this model
Yours well chuffed

JVC certainly made some of the older Ferguson cassette decks like the 3272. They seemed to be about the only Japanese manufacturer to put the transport mechanism on the right side of the machine.

Well I never, the resemblance is uncanny.

And yes, even the early JVC front-loading audio cassette decks (uniquely?) had the transport on the RHS.

I was looking for something else and came across a very lavish Ferguson brochure which has a clearer image of the 3287 cassette deck. Looks a very decent piece of kit. I think it dates from around 1977/8. Hope this helps!

Hi, the deck I saw in Cash Converters was a Technics 630 shown here

Admittedly the transport keys do look similar to those on the Ferguson Videostar VCR's but I see that the mystery has now been solved in a earlier post
