Aiwa AD-6350 cassette deck - service manual wanted
Hello.
I require a service manual for the Aiwa AD-6350 cassette deck (late 1970s), which I would like to fix, as it seems too good to scrap! Can anyone sell me (or copy) the manufacturer's service manual, please? Naturally, all costs will be re-imbursed. Hoping someone can help. Many thanks, Dazzlevision |

Sorry, can't help with manual.
But what's the problem with the deck? It's possible to mend a suprising number of cassette deck electronic faults without a diagram |

Agree with Nick on this one , I would expect most faults on a deck of this age would be down to Noisy or worn record/playback changeover switching. Does the machine sometimes motorboat or the V.U meters fully deflect?. You can recognise these as two long banks of switching operated by the record key.
Gentle movement of the switch actuators should show up any problems. However you dont say whether the problem is mechanical or electrical. Good luck. |

Andrew's absolutely right.
Another useful tricks with stereo equipment is to compare the voltages and signals in one channel with those in the other, to see where in the circuit the fault crops up. Nick. |

It would be a good idea then to buy some contact cleaner
http://cpc.farnell.com/jsp/endecaSea...&Ntk=gensearch Very useful stuff but careful not to get it on the belts as some of them have a lubricating oil in them |

Re: Aiwa AD-6350 cassette deck - service manual wanted
Hello All.
Thanks for the comments so far. I have already fixed the excessive take up clutch torque, inadequate pinchroller pressure and slack belts. In addition, the LH channel Dolby IC was u/s, giving no rec or play. I now find that the LH channel records low (plays back low on this deck and other machines), even though the record levels are set correctly. Maybe I need to adjust a preset due to the IC change? I had to wind up the LH Dolby playback level pot after replacing the IC - using a Dolby level test tape. I have come across dirty rec/play slider switches in the past but these seem to be OK. Any further advice greatly appreciated. Regards, Dazzlevision |
