Philips 4304
I've just finished cleaning up this machine replaced the belts and clutches, I switched it on and for some unknown reason the receiver spool is going in the wrong direction when in the play position. I know the main drive belt is on correctly and the pick up roller at the head is going in the right direction. I know it must be something simple but for the life of me I can't figure it our. Any advice would be really welcome
Thanks |

Re: Philips 4304
This is a deteriorated /melted take up belt , under the take up spool. It connects to the motor.
To access you'll need to remove the chassis from the case and undo the TU spool clip from below. Make a note of which washers go where! Clean off the remains of the old belt and replace the clutch inserts while you're at it - search forum for tips!

Re: Philips 4304
If you have replaced the clutches (inserts I presume) make sure they are correct, left & right are different, again presuming you have replaced the take up belt.

Re: Philips 4304
I think the inserts are all the same, just inserted upside upside down in one clutch
