Help needed with Pioneer CT91a cassette deck.
Hi all
I have a small problem with my Pioneer CT91a cassette deck. Everything works correctly except closing the tape mechanism; it opens perfectly but when you try to close using the open/close button it whirrs and struggles to close. It will close if you take off the detachable tape mechanism cover. Is the closing mechanism via gears or a belt? Just wondering if either gear has chewed teeth or belt has just got old and stretched? Thanks kamal |

Re: Help needed with Pioneer CT91a cassette deck.
Hello, I have a CT-939 with the same problem, I have dismantled it and it's definately the rubber belt which needs changing, i had a hard time putting it back together as there is also a internal cassette holder mechanism which you have to take apart to be able to change the belt. I replaced the belt with one I had lying around and it wasn't tight enough.I'll have to redo the whole job again. check this page http://www.audiovintage.fr/?p=781
It's in French, but the pictures are very self-explinatory. Careful not to turn the rotary switch at the left of the belt. If you need something translated, let me know, bye! |
