Default RN Museum selling exhibits

Hi,

Look at http://www.rnmuseumradarandcommunications2006.org.uk/ and there are some pdf files of items the museum is selling. It all seems to be domestic radios and similar, mostly 50s?

Might be of interest.

And all horrendously overpriced sadly.

It is a shame, because they will end up as skip fodder.

A lot are a bit OTT, but there are some bargains to be had, e.g. a VHF64 in good condition for £30.

I hope they drop the prices as things fail to sell.

Some of the descriptions are a bit ropey, e.g. a Pye Black Box described merely as a "hifi gram" and a set allegedly made by Money Hicks.

I see there's some "Ecko" and "Phillips" sets as well as another which receives "Mediam" wave .

Half way down page 4 there is V4A by Radio Instruments. I've got its smaller brother the V2A. It would be nice to have the pair but not at those prices.

Pye model Q seems fair at £50 (page 23)

I emailed Mr Legg at the museum and enquired about the prices. His reply is below:

Apologies for the delay, I have been in the midlands for 10 days.
Reference the cost of the radio's, why not pay us a visit, or make us some offers, we are always ready to do a deal rather than the skip.
Bill Legg
Museum Curator

So as he says why not talk to him and maybe come to an agreement
