Default Philco Tropic 3703 - Help needed

I have been talking with someone who has just acquired a Philco Tropic 3703 and I can't seem to find any information on this set, in particular a circuit diagram. Can anyone help with either a circuit diagram or point me in the direction of one?

Pictures attached show the actual set, the valve line up is UCH81 ,UF89, UBC81, UL84, UY85.

Regards

Peter

That's probably not a UK model with the MW 2SW wavebands.

There's a UK model 125 with the same valve lineup but data on that is thin on the ground, too. Most Philcos of the era seemed to use a 4-valve lineup with DDP and TP IF and Audio stages.

Thanks Chris,

I think it's maybe more like the Philips BV375U here...

http://www.radiomuseum.org/r/philips_bv375u.html

But that said it doesn't help as there is no circuit diagram!!

Regards

Peter

Well the Invicta 16 uses the same valve lineup and is in R&TV data up top.

How close the circuit is to the Philco is anybody's guess, but probably a good start for markup.

I found a Philips B3X75U which has 2 x SW and 1 x MW with the same valve line up but uses push buttons instead of a rotary switch.

I also managed to find a circuit (it's not on the Vintage Radio Service Data CD ROM), I have attached it for interest.

Interesting- a Philips with a tuning drive that doesn't look like an entry in "Ingenious Mechanisms for Designers and Inventors"
