It may be a speaker designed for a 100v line. These are i=often used in PA Systems where long cable runs are neccesary.

With the volume control I would hazard a guess it is a school classroom 'speaker.

Smile Re: Raymond extension speaker

Hi,
I have a WB extension speaker with a similar arrangement. It could be used just as an extension speaker, or the transformer could be configured as an output transformer for either single ended or push pull wireless recievers. It also has a wander plug on a short lead, but I've forgotten what it does.
Cheers, Pete.
