Radio Identification Needed
Picked this radio up and cleaned the cabinet. Internally it seems intact. No makers name marking anywhere. Valve line up VT52, VR56 and 1 valve unmarked. Any one able to help with the unmarked valve and make of the radio. Thanks

Re: Radio Identification Needed
Looks like one of the Premier Radios

Re: Radio Identification Needed
well that was a speed reply,so cabinet is identical, valve line up is different mine has 3 radio museum has 4,also mine has mw and lw as opposed to mw and sw,finally the speaker in mine is dated 1941,redio museum says 1954,would they have been made over that period ,

Re: Radio Identification Needed
If I remember right that design of cabinet was produced by the thousands across the pond.

Re: Radio Identification Needed
Lawrence is right that cabinet appeared almost everywhere and the components were often government surplus.
If you looked at all the sets built just by premier they did several and they are not all in RM One of the two links was 3 Valve MW LW but its so incomplete it may have had SW who knows ? https://www.radiomuseum.org/r/premie...radio_kit.html Cheers Mike T

Re: Radio Identification Needed
Does it have an octal base like the other two?
The VT52 is probably the audio output valve, and the VR56 is an RF pentode so whats possibly missing is a detector/amplifier. A picture would help Cheers Mike T
