Garrard 2025 problem starting
I'm here again regarding a record player I have posted about before.
Garrard 2025 deck, which I've basically restored to working condition after 25 years in an attic. Just recently it stopped starting. when the start knob is moved to the right the platter spins, then stops when the knob settles in place. I've had the bottom off and it appears that the mechanism is pushing the switch in the attached photo but when the mechanism settles into "on" position it pulls back slightly. Is there an adjustment to be made or some other quick fix? |

Try un-nipping the 2 screws holding the switch and move the switch towards the actuator and tighten the screws back up
see if that helps |

Re: Garrard 2025 problem starting
I tried moving the switch but even with the screws undone there was no budging it...so I bodged a repair by putting a small piece of Blu-Tak between the switch arm and the actuator. Works a treat for now.
The record player is in the home of someone still technically shielding so I don't get to see it often at the moment. |
