I don't recall seeing that before, so took a quick look. But I think that was a sending issue.
Whereas the cassette interface problem seems to be that when replaying the data into it, at each newline it was too busy to respond to next line on the tape. So needed gaps inserting into the recording, that this extra circuitry did by pausing the SC/MP for a small fixed period, whenever it detected an end-of-line in the recording.

BTW, I've also discovered that more recent PW magazines may have been pulled / older ones are now low-res. at: https://worldradiohistory.com/Practi...s_Magazine.htm
Where it says (before an advert for the official PW disc) "The files on this site are greatly compressed and optimized for web downloading. They are copy and print protected and authorized only in that fashion by the original publisher"

So it does seem that publishers of still-active magazines at least are now getting even fairly-old copies removed.

I've also now found that ALL the Elektor-UK magazines appear to have been pulled from the worldradiohistory website, by orders of the publisher - see note on the webpage: https://worldradiohistory.com/Elektor.htm

However, some other regional versions are still there, like the (short-lived 1990-92) USA-version: https://worldradiohistory.com/Elektor-USA.htm
The Italian version, that began in 1979 (but end here in 1985): https://worldradiohistory.com/INTERN...Elektor-IT.htm
Plus the French version: https://worldradiohistory.com/INTERN...Elektor-FR.htm
that began in 1978 and is apparently still going (but ends in 1990, here)

So maybe some of the UK articles / projects were also in those versions.

It seems Elektor UK version started in 1974, and the official complete-archive the publisher sell, goes back to then. But it looks like the original Elektor Dutch version started rather-earlier, in 1961, according to worldradiohistory
- Although maybe not too many computer articles / projects before 1974.

However, with a bit of searching their website (not too-easy, as it doesn't seem to always be that logical / search on part of webpage address), like: https://worldradiohistory.com/hd2/ID...om_per_page=10
I then discovered that many of the individual pages of the Elektor (UK?) magazine are still there - With just the Indexing / complete PDF's gone. And navigating further up the web-address, reveals an ftp-like file structure, with all Elektor-UK magazine pages under here: https://worldradiohistory.com/hd2/ID...ektor-IDX/IDX/

Although many of the A-nn adverts pages are missing from 1977-10 (Oct) issue, at least, that I wanted to get a copy of one I saw in my printed issue.

Many UK publications, are in the All-Eras / Early / Modern categories, here: https://worldradiohistory.com/hd2/IDX-UK/Technology/

Have you tried looking for Elektor - India editions? I've definitely found those online in the past (but then the UK version was also available online).

Well I vaguely recall hearing about 'Elektor (India) Electronics' in the past, but I couldn't find much info about it from some Googling - Only that Elektor is currently published in English, Dutch, German & French versions.

Although I did manage to find some issues of it online - such as this one: https://ia800804.us.archive.org/20/i...89-04_text.pdf
- But rather low-res / pages are much smaller than A4-size (and annoyingly it seems acrobat will only print expand-to-fit paper size single pages / printing 2 etc. pages per sheet removes option to fit to sheet)

However, this is Volume 7 No.4 April 1989, so implies that the first issue was Jan 1983.
And I've already got all of the 1980's ones on an official ((c) 2014 5.4GB used) DVD of that decade, I bought from Elektor in Dec 2015 (Probably on special offer, when they only did single-year CD's, you also got with a subscription, and DVD's of each decade).
I never tried downloading issues, when I did have a Gold Subscription (I've a feeling you still had to pay to download full (back)issues, and could only download individual-articles for free - The DVD has both full-issue and individual articles from each issues, as pdf's).
So I've really been looking for 1970's issues in pdf etc.

But, cropping web-address of the above 1989-04 Elektor-India link, to go up a level to: https://ia800804.us.archive.org/20/i...ektorMagazine/
gives an ftp-style file browser of all Elektor issues in various formats from 1974 to 2015! (So might have to do some backing-up of these, whilst still there / Not sure if there are actually weblinks to these on main archive.org)
And whilst many of the late-80's ones are Elektor India issues, with adverts for companies in India, the earlier 80's & 70's ones are the standard English-UK ones.

However, the 1977-10(Oct) one, I was originally trying to find, is only 54pages (Just as I'd previously found on the individual page-scans, that were still lurking in the depths of worldradiohistory).
And there's a note on another, apologising for poor quality due to original paper copy they'd scanned being delivered wet!
So it seems these have all been scanned by people, rather than being a copy of the pdf files on the official Elektor Archive media.
And whilst probably have all the articles, may sometimes be missing some interesting historical adverts

I get a 404 error when I click on that link?

It seems some of the '%20''s should have been '_' on the web-link Chris had put.
- I thought it had worked when I'd originally tried it, so he may have subsequently changed it on the website.
And I could find any links to it on his working MK14 pages, but I did find a working-link in his changelog (On the main 'theoddys.com' path, rather than the trial RPi server direct IP-Address with no host name, which isn't quite in-sync).

So this link should currently work OK: http://www.theoddys.com/acorn/acorn_...p_library.html

Sorry folks but I've probably broken many of the links to my website !

It doesn't seem to be getting picked up by search engines so I ran an SEO spider which complained about Capitalisation and spaces so all urls are now in lower case and spaces have been replaced with '_'.

Would the moderators be up to modding the links ?

If you can identify which post #number(s) of this thread contain incorrect links and click on the little red 'report post' triangle on the bottom left corner of the post(s) concerned you will be presented with a dialogue box to explain what it is that you want to say about the post.

If you can make it as easy as possible with words to the effect of "could you please replace this broken link in this post"

(broken link)

"with this good link"

(good link)

...so that it's basically just a cut and paste job for them I'm sure that would be appreciated.

Can you add alias for the original links so the threads don’t need to be changed?

I was peripherally involved when this happened.
I sent the ONE Elektor issue that they were missing (to UK agent) on the same day that the US office was contacted!!
The perversity of the Universe tends to a maximum.
[I sometimes attend SF Worldcons. I wonder how many Elektor readers are "Costumers"!]

I would like to hope that the site will hang on to them all and start putting each issue back up one day after its copyright has expired, although that will be a while yet I suppose.

Well it seems the other main site, archive.org, retained their copies and still online, but just removed Index page to these - see post #25
And maybe Google still finds these there, so not sure how long they'd be able to keep them there / whether a site hosted somewhere that doesn't have to obey DMCA requests will have a copy.
