Hello,

If anyone wants anything transported between the Guildford area and Harpenden, PM me.

I'm collecting the following ...

Cossor CR1200U from Dave (Dazzlevision) for Stephanie
3 x Philips transistor sets from Jeffrey (ppppenguin)
Beolit 700 and white Philetta B2D03A from Kneale (Radio_Doctor)
1 Astrad VEF 12 radio and Vega 342 TV set from Jon (Duke_Nukem)

I think that's the lot. Feeling skint already !

Final list:

Taking:
TVEtte bits from KeithW for TVDen

Returning with:
Organ for Tez from Jeffrey
CRTs for Kat from Sean
Grundig TRs for Andrew from Dazzlevision
Radio and sig gen for Colin from Alan
Meter and Avo thingy for Colin from Jon
Ever Ready radio for TimS from Jon
Radio and frequency counter for me from Mark (Ilikevalvesme)

Apart from the first and last items, could I ask for things to be labelled as to who they are for, please? Some rudimentary packing would be useful, as I will not be bringing any with me, but not so much that we cannot get into the car!

I'm not going to post my list again (it's getting longer all the time) but just want to say that I'll have a pile of stuff on the B&B that's technically free but donations to the Wireless Museum will be encouraged. It won't be anything very exciting - magazines, components, bits and pieces - but one man's junk is another's treasure

A great chance to relieve me of some junk and help the museum at the same time

I had a good day, no traffic! I managed to shift some bulky items including 4 record players and a Murphy 146 baffle set that had been cluttering the kitchen for a few years, nice to see many forum members. Bought a mint 78 that I had on my wish list and another nice GL78 record deck , roll on the next event. .

Regards, Mick.

Unfortunately my intended visit had to be canceled because of Motorcycle trouble (my 9-month old Daytona won't start. Grr ). Maybe next time...

I had a good day, though I was a late arrival. Managed to collect the things I should from forum members, and pick up a couple of other bargains as well.

Good to see so many forum members, and meet a few I hadn't met before! It was also good to see at lot of new faces at the event, and I hope that bodes well for the future of our hobby.

Sam, that'll teach you for buying British!

I got a nice little 9" Pye LV30

Oh, and a flea in the ear - Thanks Jeffrey, although my son enjoyed the bag of stuff he came away with, Louise was, shall we say, underwhelmed?

Cheers
Sean

Well, met a lot of people, and I reckon I only need to meet them one or two times more and I'll even get the right name for the right face (I hate getting old).

Went with a car full of stuff, only came back with one of my radios plus three lovely old signs from Jeffrey (they go with three of the tellies I'm definitely not selling).

I think I am safe, as of the eleven items that went into my car, only three were for me, and I was only twenty quid lighter. Amazing what changes when your wife comes with you.

IanJ
You nearly didn't get it - the only reason I passed was the fact that it worked, although Mick did offer to smash it for me first!

Jim
I was wondering where you were - we must have gone (1 pm) before you arrived.

Chipp
Pity I missed you - would been good to put a face to the name.

In case you are wondering why TVDen has not been posting recently, he is having PC problems, as he explained to me yesterday.

I would like to thank all those who helped with the B&B yesterday. It was a bit frantic at times! We raised 46 in donations to the Wireless Museum and just over 20 in commission for the BVWS.

A few people brought along quite valuable sets to sell at the B&B. While all entries are welcome I'm not sure it's really the right place to sell a superb looking Philips 462 or an art deco bakelite Ekco. While we try to take all possible care of items the B&B can be a rather rough and tumble environment with mainly low value items where the odd knock is of no importance.

Thanks also to all those who help with the Forum Courier Service. There are many of us who go out of our way (sometimes literally) to gently transport treasured items from one end of the country to the other.
