Default Bush DAC90A wire replacement

Hi,
What gauge silicon insulated wire should I use to replace the old solid core with the waxy insulation?
Cheers
Mike

22AWG would be fine. 16/0.2 in Euro size.

If it's solid core, does it need to be replaced? Air is a perfectly good insulator for wiring that doesn't move inside a box. Or you could unsolder one end and slip silicon rubber sleeving over it to make it look good.

Yes it's more the insulation that is all a bit tired looking really. It probably is more for cosmetics that I'm thinking as I'm sure it's not likely to be an issue any other way.
Thanks
Mike

Also I have some 20 AWG and I was just wondering if I could use that, so if 22AWG is ok then I know it's ok.
Thanks again,
Mike

The highest current anywhere in a DAC90A is only 100mA (heater chain) so the actual copper requirement is very small. The gauges used would have been chosen for their ease of use, availability and mechanical behaviour so yes, anything you're happy to fit will be fine. If it looks right, even better!

The wire I have is the same colour so should look right. Only real difference is mine is stranded and the original is solid core. I may still get solid core yet so it stays in the shape you want.
