Default Pye U50A

I have acquired a Pye U50A. It appears to be a 250W RF HPA module. Does anyone know what it was used with, the operating frequency or any other info?
I have included a few photos.

The amplifier uses a single 4CX250B beam tube.

I know about U450B, maybe even U450L, but a U450A is new to me. Given your pictures will think - answer has to wait- for thinks.

This site: http://www.qsl.net/gm8aob/pye_service_manuals.htm says PYE U50A 50WATT VALVE FIXED STATION AMPLIFIER UHF.

Thanks Bill,

The Pye Museum was my first call, but I got no hits on a their own search engine. I also confess to missing the listing you highlighted and thank you for pointing it out.

Due to the death of the curator (and the sale of all items), I was unable to ask questions of the man that would have known, but had contact with the guy sorting the museum side out, Martin Briscoe. Items for sale @ http://www.itender.co/

The U50A is of no use to me as it is, so I will use its parts for either a small pantry transmitter or a audio amp. It has a nice 820V 290mA/85V 290mA transformer. I have just picked up a pair of 813's (and ceramic valve sockets) which will make something nice and warming on completion of my latest 807 project, a quad, push-pull affair.

Regards
Robert

An amateur might give you a decent price for that as it has all the parts to make a 432MHz linear amp. They are pretty rare.
