80 loop ant.
hi.
Im building a 80 loop, or hope to.. I've got a book (Ham Radio Today May 1994) it has just the thing Im looking for. only it uses a "helical hairpin" coil. I've never heard of that before. It gives it as 9 turns 16 gauge. but no diameter. This antenna would be idial for field days. Any info please. Pete G4MRU Last edited by Station X; 12th Sep 2008 at 9:35 am. Hello Pete,
I'd not heard of this but a momentary internet surf refers only to DNA structures. Something article writers can use when they tire of telling us how difficult toroids are! Regards Ant |

Re: 80 loop ant.
I think that I may have some information on this on my PC at home. As I'm at work at the moment I'll have a look this evening.
I'm assuming you're looking to transmit using this antenna. I'm in the process of finishing an active loop for multi band use but that's recieve only. Regards,

Re: 80 loop ant.
I don't know if this is the sort of thing you were looking for Peter, but it looks like an interesting project.
It's on the back burner as a future project when I have the time. Regards,
