KT88 stereo amp
I've just been given two GEC KT88s. Does anyone have a schematic for a basic KT88 based class A amplifier to run off a phono input?
I got at the same time two 6EW6's (pentode), two 6AW8A's (triode-pentode) and two 6146B's (pentode). Optimistically if I could build a whole amplifier from freebie valves I would at the very least be quite smug . -- Tim. |

Re: KT88 stereo amp
Hi Tim, If you PM me your address I'll send a copy of the GEC app note on a KT88 amp. The expensive bit is likely to be the o/p transformer, but it should sound very good.

Ed, my thoughts exactly ! Looking at some of the new components currenlty available, I fear that the cost saved on the valves will be the least of Tim's worries !!
