Sony HP211a
Hi everyone
I am in need of some expert knowledge. I have been given a project of repairing a Sony HP211a. The record player arm is not fastened and the cartridge is missing. The arm needs reassembling and there is a wire which seems to detached but I am unable to find the other end of the wire. I have some photos. Is there a repair manual available to download. Also where can I get parts for this model Thanks |

Re: Sony HP211a
You can get the Sony Manual from "Electro Tanya". The black wire in your photo may well be used for earthing/grounding. This is a 1970's turntable and only source of parts might have to be another unit you can cannibalise.
What parts do you think you may need?

Re: Sony HP211a
Hi Edward
The arm has no cartridge or stylus, no speakers so I don’t even know if it will work. I can find some speakers to connect up. I don’t want to spend a fortune on stylus etc if it’s a no go in the first place. I have powered it up and the turntable rotates. I’ve not checked the anything more yet. I will go online and find the manual and take it from there. Thank you for the reply |

Re: Sony HP211a
I would suggest before you spend too much time and money on this, that you hook up a pair of 8 ohm speakers and check out both channels of the amplfiier with signals from the FM/AM tuner.
