Not wishing to put a dampner on things but I've had sticky shed problems with new Zonal tape, the same type I think. Might be worth checking before you send them out.

Andy.

Thanks for that info Andy

I've not got means of checking the tape, but if Martin is willing to take a chance, I'll reimburse him if it doesn't work.

Cheers

Dave

Hi Martin

Have a look at my post above and let me know if you still want to go ahead on that basis.

Cheers

Hi Dave

The tape would be for a machine I have that needs overhauling - I thought it would be nice to have a fresh tape to record things on further down the line.

If it is something that could be checked by opening and inspecting the tape then I am happy to go ahead. If it needs to be run through a player then I'm not in a position to do that.

Can anyone advise?

Martin

Hi Martin

I'll see if I can find someone locally, who has a reel to reel recorder and report back.

If you put "sticky shed" into the vintage radio search engine there's quite a lot of info, amongst which are references to Zonal tapes, which appear to be better than others.

However I'll persevere with sourcing a R2R and let you know.

Best regards

Dave

Hi Folks (again)

It may be a big ask but is there anyone in the Southampton/Waterside area with a reel to reel recorder, which I could use to check out this tape, please?

It would be a huge help.

With fingers crossed!

Cheers

Hi Folks

Martin (please see my PM) has agreed to give it a try.

I'm hoping to post the result, if successful, for the benefit for anyone else who might like to buy one.

Cheers

That's about 30 minutes at 3.75" p/s as I recall. Perfect for a Goon show.............

I'm just outside Winchester but would be happy to give a tape a try if you fancy a trip up here.

Hi James

You might be able to save my life!

I'm in Winchester on Saturday morning at the Garrison Ground.

Is there any chance of my coming to see you after I've finished?

If so, could you PM me with your contact details and postal address?

Best regards

Dave
