Hi Pete,

I'd say almost certainly an export model, though I don't know of any Roberts literature to confirm that: radios without long wave weren't at all popular in the UK market. The MW/2SW variant is fairly scarce, at least here. The Roberts group database includes 40 "standard" RMBs, and just 3 MW/2SW sets. From around the same time the Junior model also exists in a version with MW and SW instead of MW and LW, again not at all common - the one I have is the only one that's come to my notice.

Paul

Hi,
I have two of the RMB Export Models which I picked up at BVWS Auctions. Also, I have a MW & SW version of a M5A which uses the later Octal valves rather than the side contact ones shown on the Trader Sheet'

Does anyone else have this model, I assume it was an early wartime variant made when the LW transmissions had ceased??

Regards
Trevor.

P.S.
The Trader Sheet for the RMB shows the front end arrangement for the Export Model which also has a 110v mains tapping!
