Default An "Up Top" anomaly.

Since PS announced the new service data, my Android phone displays this rather invasive message on every page of the forum.

Yet my Windows 10 PC using Chrome or Edge displays only the normal discreet rectangle.

I just wondered if it was a bug in the forum, or my rather ancient phone that was to blame?

My three month old phone does the same, Graham.

Probably due to image scaling on a non-desktop screen.

Yes it doesn't scale very well. Click the red X in the corner and it will go away and stay away.

I'm removing it after the weekend anyway, most people should have seen it by now.

I regularly access the forum using Chrome on an Android tablet. I dismissed the message when I first saw it and haven't encountered it since.

Chrome and many other mobile browsers use a technique called 'font boosting' which is supposed to make website text more readable on very small screens. Almost everyone thinks it looks really awful, but Google have ignored the criticism. There are HTML hacks which can disable it, but the vBulletin version used by the forum doesn't have them.

Nor me - I'll go to the back of the classroom.

With the way the text is enlarged on mobile devices the red X does look very small and easy to miss.
