Default Romanian R1260 transceiver

Anyone have any knowledge of this radio? Even what the mode switch on the front does. My non-worker has some odd issues, for instance one side of the coil for the aerial change-over relay has never been connected to anything (pristine peg on the board) and there are no unconnected wires lurking around.
