Default T1154b/r1155b

This may be a stupid question to some but i have never been able to find any literature on the subject ? What R1155 pairs up with the T1155B ? is it a B also ? or just one with the same frequency spectrum ?

I have a boxed T1154B (original packing crate) that was probably used in the Halifax's - Crate reads 1942 and Royal Canadian Air Force (has also a last service tag of 1945), it was across there but shipped back , this is probably the cleanest original T1154 out there !?? know sign of any corrosion internally and the brass is still brass coloured. Anyone know what it's worth? I also have an R1155B not with the box but fairly clean still with the DF (minus valves) again does anyone know what they're worth? I would love to have them both up and running but time is a problem working away most of my life? Would appreciate the help guys.

The pair together will be fine.
Value wise £150---200 R1155. T1154 £300---500

For the record a very nice pair plus aerial switch went for under £500 the lot this week.

Hi there,
A.P.2548A gives technical details for all versions. Your sets noted as; T1154B 10D/196, case aluminium, multi click-stop mechanism. Obsolescent - Restricted to use in Halifax (B) only, but suitable for use in all bombers.

R1155B 10D/13045, case aluminium, Filters fitted to prevent interference from M.F. transmitters. H.F chokes added to prevent interference from radar transmitters.
Hope this helps, John.

Thank you John, the T1154B is or says STEEL on the top, I don't know if the Canadian Royal Air Force had a different spec? I'm looking for some help or someone to get the two going if you know of any enthusiasts, my knowledge is limited as is my time?

Kind Regards and thanks again for the useful info.

Mike

An R1155 was the first 'proper' short wave receiver I ever had. Foolishly I swapped it for a moped with a friend when I was a teenager forty something years ago. Mine used to belong to G3WDX (long time silent key) but I am still in regular contact with his son.

Regards

John
