Practical Wireless: Issue 1
I "found" a PDF of P.W. dated Sept. 24 1932.
Sorry but I can't remember where it originated from. I have posted it here: www.Doc.Mo.talktalk.net/Issue-1.pdf It is 22MB so might take some time to download. |

Re: Practical Wireless: Issue 1
Excellent!!! Have you got anymore? I have a few on CD for my own use,
I contacted the PW Editor and asked if there was any chance that the PW back copies would ever be released on CD like the QST Magazines, he just replied that it was a "Thorny Subject" whatever that was supposed to mean? I think it is a great pity that this magazine that launched so many youngsters on a career in Radio and Electronics (like me) has not been preserved and made available to everyone. from Ron.. |

Re: Practical Wireless: Issue 1
Practical Wireless did release a few back issues on CD-ROM (the first 5 issues) to mark the 75th anniversary year (autumn 2007). Shame they didn't continue! Though, I can imagine the scanning and 'making good' the scans was much more than a 5-minute job...

Re: Practical Wireless: Issue 1
Enjoying this Brunel-especially "A New Spanish Custom" [p6] where the Electric Co keeps swapping from AC to DC at random. I wonder what the "gadget" to solve the problem was?
I agree with the comments about making them all available. I've got a few copies of the competitors from the thirties but as PW has been so long lived, seeing No 1 is sets the baseline for how it was in 1932. Dave W Last edited by dave walsh; 12th Jan 2009 at 8:15 pm. |

Re: Practical Wireless: Issue 1
Hi Gents, I have a load of PW from the 50's to 80's I would gladly swop to complete my collection or let go for postage. Anyone interested?
I have most of them listed on an XL sheet, PM me if you want a copy. Likewise WW and Radio Constructor Ed |
