Default Hacker Telescopic Aerial ? (again)

Repairing them that is.

From my modest collection of Hackers I've now got 3/4 Sovereign 2 aerials with various states of damage mostly to the top three sections - so I'm contemplating having a go at repairing them.

I've read the contributions from MP which are terrific in providing info on how to repair.

I'd just like to clarify a couple of things from any one who has repaired them.

1. Is Superglue or Araldite sufficiently strong to refix the bottom most tube back onto the knuckle or is there another way (without a swaging tool) to refix the tube to the knuckle.

2. The Hacker aerial has a distinctive up turned top to it - does anyone know if it unscrews from it's rod or does the rod underneath it need to be sawn off and the centre re-drilled to facilitate making back onto a new rod ?

David.
