Philips L6G38T (Actually an L6X38T)/ Pye P6000 Piccadilly
Does anyone have service info. available please on either of these excellent portables, differing in style but electrically the same? I have one of each now, and while neither seems in need of immediate attention beyond cleaning of switch contacts, a cure for noisy pots. and in the case of the Philips righting of a fallen tuning scale backstrip, I'd be very glad of a copy of the manual. In the first instance I'll need to get inside them! Any reasonable price paid / expenses gladly met of course.
Regards, Paul |

Hi Paul,
I've quite a few service sheets for Philips models but can't find one for the L6G38T. I do however have one for a model L6X38T. Just wondering if its the same set released by Philips for the Dutch market? I've attached a photo of it below, is it the same as your set? Regards |

Hello Robert,
Certainly looks just the same, and both sets were made in Holland... would a scan be convenient sometime please? Regards, Paul |

That's good then, thought it might be the same model
I've just found a few more sheets for the L6X38T, so there's about half a dozen pdf's in total. I've still got your email address, so they will be on their way to you in the next few minutes! Regards Last edited by Robert Darwent; 19th Nov 2008 at 8:59 pm. |

Great: profuse thanks. The sets really are of exceptional performance, though maybe that's not unreasonable to expect considering they retailed at about twice the price of a Hacker Sovereign: and while the Pye's pretty well disguised there's not much to choose between them beyond aesthetics and the Philips version's calibrated rotating stand, world map and buillt-in earphone!

Service sheet received from Robert - many thanks And the 'G' in the model number was my own idle mistake all along: the set's clearly enough marked L6X38T
