Default SMD Cap id.

Hi, i need to replace a faulty SMD electrolytic. It has 226v printed on it, what value is this?? Cheers, Malc

Almost certainly 22uF.

It works the same as the resistor colour code system if you directly substitute numbers for colours, and gives the answer in pF.

Thus, 2 (first figure), 2 (second figure), 6 (number of zeros) - 22,000,000pF or 22uF.

Voltage isn't given - you'll have to decide this from the circuit!

A little tip for replacing these is to use two irons at the same time, this considerably reduces the risk of damaging the board.
