Default New caps for old TV

Hi I'm thinking about getting back into restoring 405 line tvs after a break of about 16 years. Has anyone got any recommendations about where to buy High voltage caps. Maplin seen expensive and I can't find any on the RS website. I beleive the BVWS were selling some to members but I have lost that info. Thanking you in advance,

Des.

Des,

Indeed the BVWS do hold a stock of capacitors for sale to members.

You will need to contact the Membership Sec, Graham Terry to obtain them.
Details in the Bulletin.

I am about to order a new stock of these to include several more values and the twin can Electrolytics. So after the order lead time they too will also be advertised as available.

Mike...

That's good news, Mike.

Hi Des.

I'm afraid I'm not a member of the BVWS (Sorry Mike) so I can't make use of their component service, but I use RS for 90% of my capacictors. If you follow the 1st link below you should be able to find most old TV values up to 400V, and the second link will show you similar axial capacitors up to 1500V:

I hope this is of some help Des.

Kind regards.

From Mike.

Des,

You could take a look at:

http://www.justradios.com/

The turn around is swift, the capacitors are all brand new with the majority being 630 volt or higher working and they stock all of the "old" values. The prices are very reasonable but of course depend on the $US/£ exchange rate The last lot I ordered took just over a week to arrive and I have yet to be charged any duty, VAT etc.

No connection etc etc
