Default JEWEL radios best way to align one please ??

I've for better or worse gained five yes five of these weird and wonderful things I've managed to stop chassis number one from trying to spontaneously combust and it now quite happily picks up Talk sport on Medium wave but thats it nothing on long nothing on short .

Has anyone successfully managed to align one of these and if so How it's proving a bit tricky.
