BVWS Bulletins vol 21-30 now on website
Following a massive scanning effort by unrealdave we now have BVWS Bulletins volumes 21 to 30 available on the BVWS website as PDF files (we already has volumes 1 to 20).
Visit the BVWS Bulletins section where you can view the contents and download those of interest. You don't need to grab the lot straight away though, they are there permanently. |

Why the scanning effort? Surely they are produced in PDF (or at least something convertible). I asked The Bulletin for a copy of an article for my Emor Globe (now in the museum) and got a PDF.

Re: BVWS Bulletins vol 21-30 now on website
Many of these were produced on older software and due to software updates and changes along the way Carl was no longer able to create PDFs for us (he did spend some time trying). Obviously at the time your article was included that wouldn't have been an issue.
Hopefully with the more recent Bulletins this won't be an issue. I will have a chat with Alex (new editor) about this once he has settled into the role and sorted out the files etc he has received from Carl. I believe the native files from the DTP software were sent to the printers rather than PDFs, as that allowed the printers to deal with colour separations etc. |

I must be missing something obvious. I can see a contents list for each issue, but can't see any way to view the text.

You're probably trying to look at a recent volume. It's only up to vol. 30 that are available as pdfs. Later volumes are index only, I think. At the bottom of each volume index is a "download/view pdf" link

Re: BVWS Bulletins vol 21-30 now on website
A great effort - many thanks for that. When looking at older volumes and comparing them with later ones, it's evident just how much the Bulletin has progressed in terms of content, quality, layout and so on. I can't think on any magazine on the bookstands that comes even close to it, and it's nice to not be assailed with page after page of adverts between the editorial, unlike commercial mags.
