Since writing the previous post, I decided to wire it up as I suggested. It seems to work well, although I haven't tidied up and reassembled it yet.

I think it will prove a great asset. Now for the 500 series in my office!!

Hi Paul,

That's good news!

How much do these gadgets cost, please?

Nick.

Hey gang,

I've just put a rotatone in a GPO 312, and jolly good it is too! One problem though, is that when I try to programme the speed dials, as per

http://www.wedidit.ca/Product%20Imag...n%20manual.pdf

the "The number you have dialed has not been recognised" lady cuts me off before I've finished. Any ideas?

I had this problem as well. The way I got round this was programming it while not connected to the telephone network.

I have a doohickey (technical term) for connecting a normal telephone to a USB socket for Skype and connected my Rotatone 'phone to that during programming, but simply applying an appropriate DC voltage between pins 2 and 5 of the telephone jack should power the Rotatone while programming it.

Actually, between posting and it being validated, I got a message from Mike who sold me the Rotatone.

With his guidance and a bit of lateral thinking, I discovered that if you dial 017070, and get a "quiet line" you can programme away to your heart's content!

I assume that saved numbers won't survive being unplugged?

Anyway, great site, and as I have a flat full of phenolic-clad nonsense, so you will see more of me.

I'd forgotten that feature of the 17070 service (no leading "0" by the way).

I too made that (false) assumption. I was pleased to find, however, that the memory in the Rotatone retains its contents without being powered up.
