Akai GXC-325D + Dual 704 valuation advice
I’ve recently finally decided to try and sell some old inherited hi-fi equipment including a Dual 704 Electronic Drive Turntable and an Akai GXC-325d but due to their age and being in storage, I will need to give them a clean and test before I sell them.
Does anyone have any idea what these units may be worth now? I’ve attached some photos for reference. |

Best idea is to search ebay completed/sold listings to see what people actually paid.
They are both nice units, but value depends on functionality. The Dual might be the one with the overheating resistor. Others will hopefully advise further.

That Shure V15III on its own should be worth a fair bit.

Re: Akai GXC-325D + Dual 704 valuation advice
The GX-325D was one of the best two head cassette decks available around 1976. It was capable of making superb recordings on the new Japanese tape stocks becoming available at that time.
Sadly, it's only worth what somebody will pay for it, and there aren't many people using cassettes as a serious hifi medium now. They aren't easy decks to service, and it will almost certainly need attention if it's been out of use for decades. |
