Hi, and welcome to the forum.

Before you can obtain a stylus (needle), you need to know which cartridge is fitted. The cartridge is the block on the end of the arm that the stylus clips into. The cartridge may not be the original, so look carefully for any identifying marks, i.e. make or/and numbers. Let us know what they are, or post a picture of the cartridge, and we will do our best to help.

That looks very much like a BSR ST8/9 or 17/19 series stylus. The cartridge looks of Soviet manufacture, maybe a 'copy' of the BSR. John.

That's no BSR, it is an Acos GP104!

Someone has done a good job there, looks quite well mounted. Itīs a 'period replacement' for the original Rigonda cart.

In that case, this is the one you need;

Ben are you familiar with these ceramic cartridges? I am hoping I haven't done the wrong thing in pulling/sliding it out... and that it will go back in again?? The stylus on the LP side is completely worn, so I've definitely got to replace it.
I am not going to claim to have any technical knowledge on these things. I purchased the Rigonda because I love the look of it as a retro piece of furniture.... The speakers are massive and it looks well cared for. I have no idea of its age. I doubt I will find an instruction manual anywhere. The radio part looks a bit futuristic, it works, but I don't know what half of it does.
I didn't pay a lot for it.

Barry, Ben, John and Co.
Thanks a bunch you have been incredibly helpful.
Am I likely to find much info on the Rigonda?
Cheers

Sorry for the slow reply. The headshell as it is called is designed to slide out, this makes accessing the stylus much easier so donīt worry, just handle with care! As to Rigonda, they were USSR imports, I once had a Party Time record player for while, which is how I remember the cartridge-headshell. Solidly made as I recall with a quite powerful amp. A brand long since forgotten by most people, but this forum is probably as good a place as any to start looking for Rigonda info. HTH!

Hi again.... It is a great looking piece of equipment in my vintage looking living room. Since your last reply I have managed to drop the shell and broken off one of the soldered wire bits
Can you recommend where I might get it fixed.
I am so disappointed with myself.
Cheers
Mandy

If you haven't had any other offers of help with this, I'm not too far from Lincoln, so could probably help you.
