Status update: one potential recipient has dropped out. It's currently between two others as to who can arrange to collect them first. Neither of them lives anywhere near me.

It's a long time ago now. Do you still have these? I have a crazy friend who is willing to travel to get them.

They are still here and available for whoever can collect them.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply, I'll let my mate know tomorrow and let you know tomorrow afternoon/night if that's OK.
(I just tried his phone and got no reply).
He sounded very keen when I spoke to him on Saturday.
Best regards

It has taken a while for any of the potential recipients to arrange collection, but one of them finally made it here yesterday, so I am afraid I have to disappoint the others.

This thread can now be closed.

Thank goodness these have finally gone. I was very tempted to drive from Torquay to collect them if no one had taken them soon. These are superb speakers if in working order. I have had a couple of pairs from Shackman in the 1970s But could not really justify getting any more. The first speakers I bought (Dynastatic Compacts) were demonstrated in the shop basement using a variety of audio kit including a set of Quad 2 valve amps that Shackman had uprated.

He once told me that he would not let his speakers be reviewed after one really bad review was published. His concept for speaker design was a bit like Marmite -- love it or loathe it.
Last time I checked, quite a few years ago, the manufacturing rights, equipment etc. had been acquired by a German company that was oiffering to fully recondition the e/s units

Happy days but so long ago.

Phil
