Vent-Axia 12" roof fans
I'm not sure where this should be - it's not quite 'household' (rather more industrial), it could be under 'TV' as that's the application, or it could be under 'wanted', but at this stage it's more about information.
In a nutshell, we need two vintage 12" Vent-Axia roof fans from 1953 for 'Project Vivat' (see: www.projectvivat.co.uk ). The website is hopelessly out of date and, yes' we have missed all of our targets! However, we are now at the stage where all the early 50s Marconi broadcast TV kit is being fitted and as it bursts into life it starts to generate a lot of heat! The truck we're modelling this on had two 12 inch fans mounted in the roof and we have the holes, but no fans! I'm assuming that they would have been Vent Axia 'X Type' which is actually very similar to the this one http://www.vent-axia.com/product/sta...odel-s7rf.html which is still made, but only in white. Brown Bakelite is, I'm sure, what we need for circa 1953. Is there anybody out there who could confirm that the 'X Type' would be the likely fit and where we might find a pair? I suspect that being 'retro' it's going to cost a lot of money, but then the new ones aren't exactly cheap! Many thanks for any possible help. Best regards, Paul M |

Re: Vent-Axia 12" roof fans
Since the (relative) demise of film processing, it might be worth asking around anywhere which has a disused darkroom. Black, light-trapped versions of these fans were a pretty standard fitment in commercial darkrooms.
