Pam tb59
Picked this radio up earlier this year, thought it was a nice shade of green when bought, but turned out to be badly stained, probably nicotine. Luckily enough it was working as my electrical skills are minimal. Radio was stripped down and cleaned. Managed to get paints that matched after buying about six different shades, used acrylic model paints, goes on great. Both control knobs were rusted, checked radio museum and they were originally a brass colour. Wire wooled knobs, coated with a rust inhibitor and repainted with a liquid metal paint in brass, then finished with an acrylic varnish, which finished up surprisingly well.
This was probably my best experience with a vintage radio, satisfaction wise, nothing broke and turned out ok. Ian |

Excellent Job you have done. Lucky you finding one that is working, so all original.

Re: Pam tb59
Thanks for positive comments. Yes all original no parts changed. Paint was brushed on, as previously mentioned goes on great, and case was also finished with an acrylic satin varnish. I used Vallejo model paints and varnish.
