Default Creed 444 Manual?

I am about to acquire a 444 for RTTY and although there is a lot of sporadic info. on the Web, I wonder whether I could buy, beg or borrow a manual? Have no previous experience of these machines but plenty of vintage gear fiddling experience. Thank you.

EbookBrowse.com is a free search engine that provides an option to search for and download various PDF&DOC documents, data sheets etc. I've no experience of it and you have to register to download stuff. Ride at your own risk!

It purports to have the Creed 444 manual here:

http://ebookbrowse.com/search/h-444?match=on

You're correct in saying there's lots of stuff on the web about the Creed 444 and RTTY.

Here are some of the more useful links you might like to try:

http://www.baudot.net/creed/docs-ala...e-easy-way.pdf

http://www.rtty.com/England/creed444.html

http://www.samhallas.co.uk/repositor...cification.pdf

'Creed Teleprinter Model 444 Bibliography'. At the link below you'll find a series of documents collected from various issues of the BARTG journal, Datacom:

Hope that helps a bit.

Best of luck with it Anthony.

David

Thank you very much. I got a bit jumpy about the link for the 'purported' manual. Did not seem quite right! Getrting too cautious in my old age? But many thanks for the other links. I'm still on the lookout for the manual. Best

There was (is) useful info published in the Teleprinter Handbook (RSGB) Denny and Goacher circa 1974. Pages 2.63 to 2.81 including the wiring/interface.
