Default rhode & schwarz SGDF D2mac generator

Hi,
I know this isnt so vintage, but I have aquired one of these with a suitable d2mac cable/av decoder.
Has anyone a schematic for this generator, R&S didnt respond.
Id like to interrupt the output of the generator and input other audio/video sources while maintaining the orig d2mac pulses. However the main pcb is so full of eproms and so on that Im not going to risk damaging this without some careful reading. maby a waste of time but I dont see standalone D2mac encoders out there even in bcast surplus suppliers.

This may be a silly question, but is anyone still transmitting MAC in any form? ISTR the Scandinavians used it fairly seriously. Also the ill fated BSB with their squarial.

And then there was 405MAC

I believe it was for one day only, just 10 days short of 23 years ago.

Getting this back on track, D2MAC was used with Eurocrypt in the 1990s. It is a development of MAC, which was developed by the IBA in the 1980s. Before we were all talking about MAC Addresses.

You can get the data about D2MAC and Multiplexed Analogue Content by starting here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/D2-MAC

As to it's use and generation, last time I looked for Analogue signals then there were a few stations left feeding items of dubious content to certain countries. They have probably all gone now.

Anyone got a decoder and lets have this thing up and running, as it is probably one of the the vintage item of the future.

Cheers,

Steve P.

Hi Steve,
Yes dubious signals alright takes me back. Its fun transmitting the output from the generator via wireless link on i assume 2,4ghz and watching the thing lock up like old days via my philips decoder. Cant see any real practical use for this one but its nice to use it for checking monitors and vt machine if nothing else.
