Auction with 50+ early radios - Norfolk
Hi Chaps
Not really my cup of tea but some really good radios up for grabs on 22nd November. See this site, lots 732 onwards. These lots are in day 1 of the three day sale. http://www.the-saleroom.com/en-gb/au...sham-salerooms |

There is a very nice neon 'RADIO' advertising sign in the middle of this lot.
The rest of the radios look depressingly ugly to me. Sorry. |

As I said, they're not my cup of tea either but there are many collectors who would love a few!

Page 16 of the second lot. Several there that I have not seen before, I assume its someones collection - he likes Philco's.

I notice most of the estimates are a bit ott, however, there are some nice sets, i would love to attend, if only the auction was a bit closer....

Mostly ho-hum to me (including the popular round ones) but three art deco GECs definitely attracted.

Re: Auction with 50+ early radios - Norfolk
I think I agree , Lot 760 (GEC Compact ) looks like a modern CD music centre, though I presume left and right plinths are not speakers so what if anything do they contain ?
Lot 739 the Mullard looks as if it would not be out of place in a kitchen today, 757 the Ekco AC86 again looks a nice design , I am not sure about Lot 774 GEC Model BC3140, colour of woodwork is nice . Not radio or electric but a couple of nice comtempory wooden items Lot 1746 Enfield Mantel Clock , O dont normally like clocks in styles like this , but this design looks really great if recreating a 1920s/30s room with Lot 2322 finishing things off if you need a table to place your radio on. |
