Megger FT6/12 manual anywhere?
I won a Megger FT6 / 12 (6 and 12 kV insulation tester, quite a serious looking bit of kit) on Ebay today. I believe it is all good, I have bought other stuff from these people, but could do with a user manual if not a service manual. I Googled but came up with nothing. Anyone have a link or one I could beg or buy? Thanks.

Re: Megger FT6/12 manual anywhere?
Thanks brunel, message sent to Megger.
If anyone has one of these or one that uses similar lead connectors I would be interested to know if they use some bespoke connector, or if I can cobble something safe and reliable. I don't think there are any leads with it, but for £34 I can't be too fussy!

That looks amazingly like the Avo RM215 insulation and breakdown tester? Are they one and the same? Not found a manual though.

Re: Megger FT6/12 manual anywhere?
We used to have one of these at work- don't know if it still exists- if it does I can take some pics of the probes and post them up.

Re: Megger FT6/12 manual anywhere?
woodchips: I have found reference to it being called an Avo, so probably it was marketed by others, too. Cheers.
Chris: If you can find time to see what the probe connectors are, that would be great, thanks!

Re: Megger FT6/12 manual anywhere?
Megger have sent me a copy of the manual, excellent service from them! Unfortunately the service manual is no longer available from them, so if anyone has a copy I'd be very interested. I have put a copy of the user manual on my server for a while, so if anyone reading this wants it please grab it. If it's gone and you need it, PM me. Thanks.

Re: Megger FT6/12 manual anywhere?
Found the beast at work- it is an FT6/12 but we don't have any leads either
However, a bit of consultation revealed that "It's not a problem if you really need to use it, the socket at the bottom of the hole is just a standard 4mm Banana Plug socket" So.... a bit of ingenuity with some suitable diameter plastic rod, some 4mm plug inners and some copper cored ignition cable and you're away. Pic below shows 4mm plug (with a bit of 16SWG copper attached) that I used to probe the hole to confirm this (with the power off I might add!).

Re: Megger FT6/12 manual anywhere?
That's excellent, thanks Herald1360!! I have some nice white covered, very supple HV cable from an X-Ray machine HV section, it would be ideal for some leads, I can knock something up based on your idea. I have to go into Telford tomorrow to get a pal to check out a Marconi RF power meter head on his HP power meter, that has a calibration output socket, and will be collecting the tester whilst in the town. Hopefully it will work and I can test some vac caps. Much appreciated, thanks for the photo.

Re: Megger FT6/12 manual anywhere?
A result, I collected today and asked if they had the leads. They had a scrat about and found the original leads, including the low power lead and connector. Seems to work fine with no fettling! Can take a photo of the OE leads and connector "guns" if anyone wants to see what they should be like? Looking at it I would imagine this was an expensive bit of kit, new. You win some, you lose some
Thanks all.
