Where is it now? A London KB console and its story
This is a private investigation!
It was in 1996, just after Germany did won the european socker championship against GB, that I visited London for the first time. I was on the way to find vintage TVs, and my station wagon was filled up to the roof when I went home! Close to the Tower Bridge is a fleamarket with trunk sale and some old sales buildings. In one bigger dark building, looked like a ground floor cellar a minor friendly seller offered all kind of stuff. He had 3 TVs, one 22cm Murphy rounded chassis console and a 22cm Kolster Brandes console for sale. I don`t remember the third, but it was out of my interest. The KB was in about show room condition, unusual beauty, with a Deco-line cabin. The reason why I didn`t take it was that is has Pico-valves, I decided for an old Bush TV 1, rough cabin but looked older to me. The Bush was located close to the Cutty Sark in a second hand clothings shop for 60s Beat music people and did cost me the third. To pick it up, I had to park my car in the middle of the crossing! My question is now: What has happened to the KB of 1996? I am sure, that it is now save in collector hands, maybe somebody from this forum is the owner. I never saw the same KB console again, it was really unusual beauty! Maybe the owner could place a picture of it here? Thanks in advance, German Dalek

Perhaps the model CV40 of 1948? This was the first post-war KB television set. Nine inch (22cm) CRT, flyback EHT and was the predecessor of the DV40 and EV40 models which have been the subject of discussion in the Forum.

Correction: the CV40 had a 12" (31cm) CRT, the Brimar C12A = Mazda CRM121. I don't think that KB ever made a nine inch CRT set.

Many thanks for that information, it was "something" like that,
maybe my memory is wrong, because the design is a little different in my head. However it is so many years back. German Dalek

Both of them look somewhat reminiscent of Daleks!
