Dansette Junior Deluxe
Could Anyone Tell Me If The Plastic On The Speed Selector be removed from the metal itself to access beneath?

The plastic trim can be removed, however this involves first removing the rather fragile speed control knob. Great care is needed in doing this, as they break easily.
I insert two broad bladed screwdrivers under opposite sides of the knob and lever gently and evenly to ease the knob off the shaft. Once the knob is off, remove the washer with a lug on it. Under this is a circlip which, once removed, will allow the trim to be lifted away. It is quite normal for these mechanisms to become seized after a period of non use. Some penetrating oil and gentle heat will normally free them up to allow dismantling, cleaning and lubrication. Chris R |
