Default Car bullet connectors are 4mm

For anyone working on a project that doesn't warrant the cost of "proper" 4mm ("banana") sockets, the red crimp on bullet connectors used in cars can be used successfully as a free socket - and they're dirt cheap.

"Red" seems to indicate size rather than polarity - I've coloured some of mine with indelible felt tip.
They're not very deep, if that matters.
The corresponding bullet plugs don't make good 4mm plugs.
Very quick to fit, especially with a proper crimp tool.

Red/Blue/Yellow simply denote the ranges of wire gauge which may be satisfactorily crimped in the connectors. A decent ratchet crimp tool for these connectors has three different jaw sizes for the different colour terminals.
