Hi All,

Does anyone please have any information, particularly a schematic or manual for the above radio.

Kind regards

Hi Brian,

Many thanks for the info. I am looking for the schematic for a friend who doesn't have a computer, but has just bought one of these. So far, I haven't managed to find anything except a picture of a very corroded one (not his!)

Kind regards

Dave

Dave, did you friend buy this on Sunday at Hack Green by any chance? The guy on the table next to me had bought one and I was curious to know what it was.

Hi Nick,

Yes indeed, it would be the same set. I haven't seen it myself yet, but I spoke to Howard to find out how he had got on at the rally, and he mentioned that he had bought it. As he does not use a computer I said I would try and find some circuit details if possible. I shall be visiting him tomorrow afternoon, and am looking forward to seeing if he has got it working.

Kind regards

I have one of these receivers, a very nice little airborne unit, possibly Marconi's first post R1155 receiver? It has much the same coverage but uses miniature B7G base valves. Anyway, somewhere I have a circuit plus some notes about it on BOAC logoed paper, I'll look them out and scan for those interested.

I used mine back in the early 1970s as a tunable IF (2-4MHz) for a 2m converter.

I'll post again when I have found the data.

cheers

Peter

Hi Peter

Many thanks for your help, I'll pass on anything you can find. I believe that as you say, this set was the successor to the civilian equivalent of the R1155.

Kind regards

Dave

I have scanned my info on the AD108 receiver into a 12MB pdf file.

Download it from:

ftp://ftp.jkmrc.uq.edu.au

username: jk-ftp
password: jk456

It will be there for a week before being removed by our system.

Sorry a few pages have scribbles on them my then 2 yr old daught got hold of the paper and tried 'drawing'.

I have added a couple of pics of the left and right side internals.

Hi Peter,

Many thanks for the manual and the pictures, My friend will be absolutely delighted with the information. I am printing a copy for him as I am typing this. I had the opportunity to try the set, which Howard has working, at the weekend, and although the tuning is a bit fiddly, the stability and general performance are great.

Again, many thanks for your assistance.

Kind regards

I just tried to download your AD108 information file, I get to the site, but when I try to download get the error messages 'Cannot login to ftp server' and '530 user anonymous cannot login'

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Andy

I have looked at the server again and its ok with me. Our IT guys say that the sort of message you saw is often due to restrictions at your end, were you trying to download at home or at work? Sorry there is not much else I can do.

cheers

Hello all,
I was delighted to come across this thread. I have an AD108 that has been sitting in bits in a biscuit tin in my loft for 20 yrs. It was originally used a tunable IF for 2 metres by a friend. Over the years I had drawn a complete blank in trying to find any data on it - I even tried the Marconi archives with no luck.
Is there any chance that somebody could make the 12MB scan (with daughter's scribbles) available to me?
Thanks,
Richard

Re-shared mine as the original link no longer seems to be available.
