Murphy 618 AP 100333 Transmitter on air
Today I put this old naval tx on air for a successful AM QSO. Does anyone know a likely date for it, or when it might have ended active service? (serial MR 14 MK) I see "1955?" mentioned on web, but there are no dates on the tx or in the manual.
I made a psu and control unit for it, laying out a pcb because of the complexity. The set needed some repairs and I could tell by the burnt insulation someone had been looking for those same faults. Now its going ok and will put on air with a CR100 for some vintage events. Andrew |

Re: Murphy 618 AP 100333 Transmitter on air
Around 1955-58-ish. It followed on from the B40 series (Rx) and associated Tx.
So, the "1955" is probably correct. |
