I have the SX16, which is basically the same, if that is any help.

The SX-17 has an extra RF stage and a noise limiter, using a 6K7 and 6H6 respectively (Source Radios by Hallicrafters by Chuck Dachis). I think that one of the Hallicrafters sets I have is this model but would have to check, with the NVCF and other things I don't have much time for this at the moment,I may be able to help next week.
