Yes that should be noted.
In the old days it was common for the positive terminal of an electrolytic capacitor to be marked, now it is the norm for the negative terminal to be marked.
If you are not sure and the capacitor is an axial type, (wire each end) then check each end, the end which is solid aluminium is the negative and the end which is insulated from the rest of the can is the positive.

Thanks Herald1360, I have not look at the Plesseys yet and did not know that the Red was the positive end.
Thanks Crackle, I'll pay attention to the construction re - solid end and insulated end.

Does anyone have the full manual for this or the values of the resistors
The cap values are on the diagrams in an earlier post.

The service sheet shows that there are eight electrolytic caps and seven tubular paper caps. Of the rest, (the 'flat' ones) seven are mica, and one is ceramic, none of which should be a cause for concern unless proved faulty. Of the resistors, 14 are 20% tolerance and 17 are 10%, so even when new, a 470K resistor say, could have ranged from 376k - 564K and still be in tolerance. Unless any are way our of tolerance and degrading performance, best left alone.
