Sony Betamax SL HF100 rewind trips out
I've been trying to diagnose this problem with my machine. It plays tapes and fast forwards/ forward cues without a problem. But on pressing rewind, or rewind cue, it rewinds for less than a second, then trips to stop. Any suggestions as to a possible cause?
Thanks, Tim. |

Re: Sony Betamax SL HF100 rewind trips out
Hi Tim.
It would seem there is a sensor. As the carriage loads the tape that a sensor that can get slightly bent and it just requires careful straightening. the problem is as the tape loads the carriage can contact the sensor wires. Once bent back to its original position it should then rewind normally. |

Re: Sony Betamax SL HF100 rewind trips out
Hi
Would agree with the previous post as I came across this too. The metal bracket to the right can get bent a little and if close enough to the right tape end sensor will overload this and trips out both of these modes. ..Kevin |
