Heathkit DX60B.
I’m just restoring a DX60B, got all the RFery sorted out, just a question, does anyone know if the standard US transformer can be wired for 230V operation?, it looks as if it can but I want confirmation

Re: Heathkit DX60B.
Looks like it can from the service manual. Has two 120v windings you can put in series. I’ve done this with a couple of other heathkit items as well.
Interested to see your restoration results. |

Hi Tim,
If you have a look at the schematic for the DX60B on the Heathkit Schematic and Manual Archive, you will see shown separately below the power supply section, the 240 volt input wiring arrangement for the transformer . Kind regards Dave G0ELJ |

Re: Heathkit DX60B.
Thanks, all sorted and running on proper mains now, just got to sort out antenna change over and receiver muting, and it will be on the air.

I sold a DX60B a short while ago, along with an HG-10B VFO and an HR-10B receiver. The new owner pointed out to me that the DX-60B had a reputation for function rotary switch failure due to arcing and that replacement switches were very hard to find. There are a number of articles on Google which explain how to get around this problem and also provide PTT operation, including a kit of parts to carry out the mod. Hope that's of interest, 73 Roger/G3VKM Last edited by G3VKM_Roger; 10th Aug 2019 at 6:23 am. Reason: Add |
