Default Helpful TV monitor maintenance videos

As part of the work of our Trust, we have been documenting the work done on our restoration of the BBC Outside Broadcast van, MCR21.

One of our volunteers, Paul, has been working on the repair of the PYE 14" TV monitors and as part of this he has produced some interesting and educational videos describing the work.

I would recommend you view them in sequence on YouTube:-

PYE Monitor Mayhem Part 1

Pye Monitor Mayhem Part 2

Part two has just been uploaded just 2 hours ago and it gives many hints with circuit references as to the problems of a 60 year old monitor and also much applies to TVs in general.

There will be a part 3 in due course. Please "like" them as this improves our visibility.

Best Regards for the
Broadcast television Technology Trust

An object lesson in methodical fault finding, and shows the value of a well written manual with waveforms. Odd (and sad) how CRTs can go down to air in unfavourable conditions.
I recognised that clicking noise at the end of the second video!
