Default Starting a Catalog

Not sure if this is the place to plunk down an article, but if I'm in the wrong spot, mods are more than welcome to put it in its proper location.

My website will have to wait awhile, because the way I want to do it will require farming out some database work, and that's beyond my Jedi powers at the moment.

HOWEVER, I am slowly assembling a catalog, and I have a few pages to display. All except the British Transistor Battery page are complete.

As Rod Serling would say, Submitted for your approval, a sampling:

Very nice Bill!

I like the period style - I have brochures foe radios and TVs from the years in which these batteries were current and these look bang on.

Fabulous pages Bill, they really look great, as do your battery's.

Very professional.

Your first page with the Every Ready Sky Countess is certainly a good choice for a battery supplier. It was my first working radio in the early 1950s and really ate batteries.

Thanks to everyone.

Ironically, the cover artwork was from an Exide Battery advertisement.

I loosely based the page layout on a book by Mark Johnson--"Attache Radios"

Hi Bill,

I'd like to add my praise to all the positive comments you've already received, just excellent work! If your website, when its finished, is only half as professional I can't wait to see it!

Regards

I thought that radio had a distinctly British look to it, but the model in the photo looked American to me - must be the high heels It's vaguely reminiscent of the Uma Thurman promotional photo for Pulp Fiction.

... I wonder what she was looking at so lovingly before they airbrushed the radio onto the shot

Honest, it was a Sky Countess even if my impression of when I had it was wrong ...

As usual, Bill, your work and artwork is faultless. The website should look fantastic when finally up and running.
Very correct for the period, nicely balanced text and images.
Great stuff.

This is what I had to work with--the original ad....

Did a LOT of modifications to it.

Thanks for all the positive reviews.

Now, for those of the Trans Oceanic persuasion....

I have to attend a radio meet this weekend, and these HAD to get finished...

I've always felt a gloved hand added a touch of elegance to the product.

I'm not sure I agree about this - seems vaguely kinky but perhaps that's just me I suppose it might attract a new group of people to the vintage radio hobby

Hello,

Top left picture, is this not a Pye radio (P114BQ)?
