Hi my Technics SUX950 has started to show negative values. The sound is obviously low. Anybody know of a repair service close to me in Totnes?

It might be worth contacting one of the local Men's Sheds. Somebody there might have the right skills. There are branches at Torquay, Paignton & Brixham. Good luck!

Try Dartington Repair Café. The photograph even shows people peering into a piece of audio equipment of a similar era. These events are run by volunteers so they don't charge, beyond required parts. My local one suggests a donation for satisfied visitors.

Be aware that a professional repair is likely to cost more than a working secondhand unit. Richer Sounds do have technicians.

There is a service manual available online, which makes repair for a competent person considerably easier if there are no unobtainable components involved.
